Guillaume Bottazzi Creates a Monumental Artwork in Brussels
The monumental painting will measure 16m high by 7m wide, a scale that means that the viewer must move around in order to see it properly. Guillaume Bottazzi will work alone on the piece, without any assistants, while the very process of creating of this massive oeuvre is perceived as performance. Once the painting is finished, it will remain permanent on public view. A study that was carried out by scientists Helmut Leder and Marcos Nadal from the University of Vienna proves that Guillaume Bottazzi’s art reduces anxiety in the people who look at it. Therefore, it is expected that the square will attract even more visitors in the future once the painting is completed.
